Following the release of his joint EP with BNXN, singer Ruger has opened up on the key details that influenced his decision to leave his former record label Jonzing World.

The talented singer and performer Ruger took to his social media platform today, Thursday, April 11, 2024, to open up on the details behind his shocking and unexpected exit from Jonzing World.

The singer revealed that the record label which is led by the brother of the Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy, D’Prince, had gotten lax with his success as a solo artist and had failed to amp up his promotion and also expand his work reach.

He posted on the social media platform X, “As much as I’m very appreciative of the fact that Jonzing world introduced me to the world, I just couldn’t continue with them because they got too comfortable with the money they were making from me and couldn’t push me further as I wanted to be pushed. Was supposed to renegotiate the contract but I couldn’t imagine 5 years more without action.”

Ruger confirmed that he was in fact appreciative of how much the label had done for him in the early stage of his career but his desire to be a bigger artist was not met by the record label. He explained that he had expressed his discomfort behind how he was being promoted as an artist and people had initially spoken about how that was not the way for him to get things done indicating that nothing however changed in the long run.

He posted, “I complained, I got angry, some people tell me say no be so dem Dey do things. I still go back HQ go collect fake hugs and handshakes. Nothing still change. I wan mad.”

He went on to call them out for using money made from him as an artist to fund other up-and-coming artists the label had also signed during this period. He also added that there was more to be said about the situation but for his safety this would be all he would say about the situation for now. Ruger revealed that he is however proud of how far he has come and how far he is looking to go with tour dates already confirmed by the singer.

He also posted, “Anyways, I’m proud of myself. Performing at very big festivals this year, touring Europe again, touring Canada again, IDC I’m gonna be cocky. coz this is shit they couldn’t do for me. BS!!!”
