The lovebirds mingled with the stars at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday.  It was their first time walking a red carpet together since confirming their relationship earlier and, boy, was their arrival grand if not just a little late.

Rihanna, 33, and A$AP Rocky, 32, descended down the museum’s famous steps with the rapper wrapped in a thick patchwork blanket which he then flung off in dramatic fashion to reveal a smart blazer, white ruffled shirt and trousers.

His look matched Rihanna’s all-black look with the Wild Thoughts singer clad in an exaggerated ruffle dress, which resembled a duvet, completed with a beanie and Bulgari diamonds, said to be worth 267 carats.

So perfectly in keeping with this year’s Met Gala theme, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, which is described as an exploration of the nation’s sartorial identity and a deep dive into American ingenuity.

It’s been a whirlwind journey to the red carpet for Rihanna and A$AP, who were first linked in 2020 after they were spotted spending time together and appearing in Fenty Skin campaigns. Rumours were only fuelled when they posed on the red carpet at the British Fashion Awards the month prior.

However, they finally went public with their romance in November 2020 before A$AP spoke out about their relationship for the first time. In an interview with GQ, the rapper described Rihanna as ‘the one’ and ‘the love of my life. My lady’, confirming what we all wanted to know.
