Controversial singer, Naira Marley’s car theft court case has been dismissed by a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court today.
Naira Marley, his two brothers Idris Fashola, 18; Babatunde Fashola, 24; and their cousin, Kunle Obere, 22 were involved in a scandal a few weeks ago which lead to the police charging them for car theft. The police filed four counts of conspiracy, stealing, assault and obstructing the police against them before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court at Tinubu.
Naira Marley failed to make an appearance in court for the first hearing and the judge threatened to issue an arrest warrant but after much persuasion by the singer’s lawyer, the case was adjourned till the 14th of January,2020. However, at the resumed court proceedings today, the case was dismissed.
According to reports, the case was dismissed by Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias after receiving an out of court settlement agreement between the “Soapy” singer and the complainant. Mr Elias struck out the four-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, assault and obstructing the police from arresting Marley.
