Manchester United are reportedly making a last-ditch effort to buy Antoine Griezmann.
The France World Cup winner will leave Atletico Madrid this summer having announced his intention to depart the Wanda Metropolitano last month.
Atletico Madrid chief executive Gil Marin claimed on Wednesday that Griezmann, 28, will be moving to Barcelona this summer.
Speaking to Sport on he said: “We have known since March that Griezmann is going to Barcelona.”
However, according to The Sun, Barca have not yet made a formal bid and that has opened the door for United to launch a move.
An offer of £95million for Griezmann is said to be incoming from United, which would smash the Premier League club’s transfer record.
The 28-year-old opened the door to a potential move outside of Spain when speaking after France’s 4-0 win against Andorra.
“There’s a need for patience, as it’s still soon,’ said Griezmann.
Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko has revealed his burning ambition to play for Paris Saint-Germain, with a return to Stamford Bridge on the cards this summer.
The France international signed for the Blues from Monaco in 2017 but failed to live up to expectations during his first season in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old was shipped out on a season-long loan to AC Milan last summer and he racked up 31 Serie A appearances in total despite enduring a fractious relationship with now-departed head coach Gennaro Gattuso.
Ernesto Valverde would be prepared to sanction the sale of midfielder Ivan Rakitic if an interested club makes a substatial offer, according to SER Catalunya.
31-year-old Rakitic is coming to the end of his peak years and may find his place in the team threatened by the arrival of Dutch starlet Frenkie de Jong.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Rakitic, with Juan Mata seemingly likely to be leaving Old Trafford this summer.
Manchester United will not be deterred in their pursuit of Harry Maguire despite Leicester City’s £80 million asking price, say ESPN.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is to be backed in the transfer window as he attempts to turn around United’s miserable fortunes, but Leicester are fully aware of their desparation.
Maguire, 26, signed a new long-term contract with the Foxes in October and they are under no pressure to sell for anything less than a huge fee.
Dortmund want Arsenal captain Koscielny
Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny could have played his final game for the club with BILD reporting that Borussia Dortmund want to bring him in.
Koscielny, 33, has made more than 350 appearances for the Gunners since joining from Lorient in 2010, but may be looking for a new challenge as Unai Emery’s rebuilding job continues.
Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan and Monaco have also been linked with a move for the France international.
Arsenal to sign goalkeeping prospect Schubert
Arsenal are close to finalising a deal for 21-year-old German goalkeeper Markus Schubert, according to the Independent.
The youngster, currently at Dynamo Dresden, is highly rated as a modern goalkeeper but is available on a free transfer this summer.
The Gunners are already looking at sourcing a loan move for Schubert, either in the Championship or back in Germany.
Arsenal are in advanced talks with Saint Ettiene over a summer transfer deal for William Saliba, according to Le 10 Sport.
The 18-year-old could complete a switch for around €30 million ($34m, £27m), before being sent back to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on loan next season.
Saliba racked up 16 appearances in Ligue 1 last term and already has three caps to his name for the France U-19 national side.
Denis Suarez has made it clear that he wants out of Barcelona.
The midfielder, who spent half of last season on loan at Arsenal, is ready to leave the Spanish champions in search of playing time, but wants to stay in La Liga.
“What I want is to leave Barca and play,” Suarez told El Larguero.
“My goal is to stay in the Spanish league. I have been in Barcelona for two months recovering from the injury and nobody from Barca has told me anything.”
